Hey fellow Navy Dads! If you're like me, you got home today and there was a letter from our SR !! Yeah!! Although a Navy form letter, it was still great to get and on the bottom of page 4 were the "Comments" section where our SR was able to write a few lines.
Who else has an SR in Ship 2 / Div 343? It will be great to connect here.
Take care.....John H.

John H., I got my 1st letter today! So excited, it was great to hear from my son. He is also on Ship 2, Div. 343, PIR 10/14, can't wait to get there! Talk to ya soon, Carl
Hi Carl...that's great!! Thanks for replying. I added you as a friend. Hope we can keep each other informed on what we learn from our son's letters.
Hi John, I just accepted you as a friend. Absolutely, we'll keep each other informed, it's a male/female division, says things are going well, and keep the letters coming, they get mail once a night. Talk to ya soon, Carl
Hi Bonnie...good to hear! (Carl you too!) It seems like the division after them was on a fast track and has their PIR the same date so it might be a huge PIR...if not, they're allowed to add 2 standbys. My son's girlfriend and I both have received 2 or 3 letters. They're hangin in there, but it seems like a part of the division is having trouble following basic instructions and protocols so the WHOLE division is getting extra IT which is tough on them all. He said the food is really horrible so plan to take your sailor (to be) out for a few great meals. Mine might be shipping off to A school the next day so we might only have Friday with him, which would be such a bummer. Their commander said that if they pass their next test he'll give them a phone call back home, so let's hope for that. My son got a 5 min call but of course called his girlfriend! We're staying at the Residence in Waukegan. Hope we can meet up...Carl's son's is in too so we have 3 the same so far. Take care...john
Yes...you're right I guess...at least we're all getting updates one way or another. She got a long letter today...sounds like they"re all doing OK....80 SRs started, 6 dropped out (didn't think that was an option?), 3 were pushed back. PT testing is one day this week, at 4:45 am! Justin scored really well on their 1st big test last week...I'm really proud of him! His A school is 5 weeks long, then after that he will have already earned 10 days paid leave so hopefully we'll get to see him around the Holidays.
Hi John and welcome Bonnie, I also heard the same from my son about the extra IT, and the reasons, but all is well and time is flying, I got to talk to my son on the phone for a nice amount of time last week, it was great. I'm staying at Residence also John, so we'll have to meet up. Talk to ya soon, Carl
Hi Carl and Bonnie...did you get your calls yet after Battlestations? Justin called me last night...he's a Sailor now and got his new cap. Looks like their div also won the Captain's Cup too so that's very exciting!
Hi John, yes I got my call yesterday afternoon, I was so happy and excited for my son, he also got promoted to E-2 SA, so wonderful to hear he did so well, can't wait for PIR on friday. We'll have to meet up friday morning at the hotel, maybe take the same shuttle together. Great to hear they won the Captain's Cup also, that's great, sounds like we got a great division of SAILORS! Talk to ya soon, Carl
