Hi.  My son is in Division 811.  He is signed up for EOD.  I originally came here to see what other dads were saying about Division 811, but apparently there isn't much discussion.  So maybe we can get the ball rolling.....

I'm a mom, and my son is in 811, signed up for diver.

I got word from my son last week, that he will be medically discharged due to slight hearing loss in one of his ears.  This news devastated him.  He has trained for almost 2 years to be able to go into special forces.  I don't understand why MEPS didn't disqualify him before he got to basic training.  Anyway, I wish all the other Division 811 guys the best of luck and thanks for your service.

H.G.R., sorry to hear about your son.  I have heard similar stories before.  Seems like MEPS should do a better job with their pre screening to avoid the same kind of disappointment your son is feeling now.  I wish him good luck with whatever direction he chooses in the future.....
