My daughter enlisted in '05 and spent 5 years on the USS Abraham Lincoln until her enlistment was up in '10....never crossed my mind as I didn't allow it to.  You have to concentrate on the fact that she will be trained by some in the best in the Navy and that her shipmates are as well....they rely on each other and have trust in each other. You start to let that doubt creep into your thoughts and you'll stress out.......of course you worry but you cannot do anything about it- don't let it overwhelm your life!

AMen to what Paul said. My daughter entered in 2012. She is a MA now stationed in Spain. We all have concerns when they are away the same as my parents did when i was in the navy (1982-1988). All we can do is PRAY and trust in the training that our kids went through.

You have to trust in their training....but it is never easy...They are very good at what they do !!!!
