My sincere apologies for registering being as how I'm a Mom not a Dad. Most unfortunately, the NavyForMoms.com site states it is no longer able to accept new members, http://navyformoms.com/forum/topics/attn-prospective-members.
Our son is something called a NUPOC. He's currently completing a 5-year undergraduate program at U of I Urbana-Champaign and apparently will be graduating a semester early this coming December. We are told he will attend OTC sometime in January after which he will be sent to a school in SC then on to Groton, CT. There may be other schools/training required of him before he realizes his dream of being 20,000 leagues beneath the sea.
I have many questions. May I please ask them here at NavyDads.com? If not, I totally understand given the name of this site is NavyDads. ;)

Thank you.
Is there an edit button that I'm missing somewhere to correct a typo in my initial post?
I'll have to get back to you on that as I cannot remember what options members have vs admins!

Thank you. Re-read my post and caught this, "He's is currently completing...".
I don't remember what options the members have...look at the top of the discussion and if you have OPTION button click that and see if EDIT is an option you have.

No edit button that I can find which again... is not a big deal. I did have my neighbor's daughter check since I'm not all that computer literate.
According to her, there is an Admin panel in the NING software powering this forum that has an area where member permissions to edit a post can be granted. It would need to be activated by an administrator to enable the editing of member posts by members. She also mentioned that the time limit for edits can be set anywhere from 30 seconds to 30 minutes to indefinitely and that if was probably over-looked when this website was set up is all.
adding- I found that there an edit button is provided to members. It provides us with 15 minutes to edit a post after which it disappears and the post stands as is. Sheesh, these kids are whipper snaps with computer everything these days.
Options avail to admins are dependent on the NING version...we are running NING 2 and NOT NING 3- trust me that since I've been associated with this site (8/31/2008) I know the options available and we do not have some of those available on the other version. We stayed here as there are some serious issues with the other version and features that are not available that we use every day. If needed, I can edit (any admin can) posts
I was simply amazed when a teenager stopped in and I asked her to find an edit button for me that she said what she said. Kids these days! They are so incredibly good with computers.
A few typos and some grammar errors aren't going to make or break any post of mine. We've got 15 minutes to correct mistakes from what I have learned which is wonderful. Now all I need to do is remember to do that.
Hello.
I have edited your original post from "He's is" to "He's." I think that's what you were wanting to do.
