Chris, Welcome Aboard! I found navyformoms in searching for answers to my son's future. I just knew their had to be a site for dads like n4m's but I was wrong. So I started this site so us dads would also have a place to call home. I'm new at this and I hope this site will benefit fathers that come behind us. So jump right in share concerns, join groups, share info, and show off your sailor. I'm so glad to find out their are so many proud Navy dads just like myself. I hope this site benefits you and your family throughout your sons journey in the Navy. Thank your son for his service for me and thanks again for joining us. Sincerely, EG

Chris the boot camp group has a wealth of information on graduation (PIR). Join this group. It has links to grad dates, address's, PIR hints, etc. The tough thing about it is you don't find out if he graduates on that date until you receive a phone call from him telling you that he passed battle stations. That could be just days before graduation. You should know by talking to him if he is right on track and will graduate on time. If he is confident that he will graduate on time then I would go ahead and book an airline, room, etc. We stayed in Lincoln shire about a ten minute drive from base. We were happy with it. Also check out PIR - Tips, Hints, and Help there is a lot of info in this group on PIR. Keep me posted on Cole's progress.

When did he arrive! You should get your first letter in week three or four and the first call should be around week four. Their are a lot of factors to when they get the privilege to write and call home. It depends on how they work together as a division. Keep writing daily and maybe start numbering the letters because they let them build up until they reward them with your letters. They have to earn them. My son said it was like Christmas the day he first got our letters. He had a lot of mail to read. Once they earn that right it, they will be able to write every Sunday so you should receive his letters on Wed or Thurs like clock work. So everything sounds normal.
