Welcome to NavyDads Kenorian ! I'm sure you'll find the site as fun and useful as I have. Explore and make some friends, add your comments to a discussion or two, read the postings in the various groups-- even start one or two. I have! If you have any questions or concerns about your sailor and what he is going through...ask! I'm sure someone here will have the answer or can point you in the right direction to find out. I'm lucky enough to have two sailors- my son Eric is a month into a seven-month deployment on the carrier Theodore Roosevelt and my daughter Kat just returned from her seven-month deployment on the carrier Abraham Lincoln. And Kenorian this is a great place to brag about your sailor as well! So join in and let us know how Paul is doing! Best Regards- Paul

Kenorian thanks for joining. I found navyformoms in searching for answers to my son's future. I just knew their had to be a site for dads like n4m's but I was wrong. So I started this site so us dads would also have a place to call home. I'm new at this and I hope this site will benefit fathers that come behind us. So jump right in share concerns, join groups, share info, and show off your sailor. I'm so glad to find out their are so many proud navy dads just like myself. Thank your son for his service for me. Good luck and thanks again for joining. Sincerely, EG

Hi Kenorian, My name is Jim thanks for joining Navy Sub Dad's, my son Kyle is currently in his second week of BESS in Groton,Ct. Kyle says that they are very busy and that the class moves very fast but he is enjoying it. He says that he is with the best and smartest people in the navy. If you can tell me about what he will be going through the next few weeks it would really help me understand all of this more. Thanks....Jim

Hi Kenorian, welcome to this wonderful site. Please tell your son that I say "THANK YOU" for his service to our country. With regard to the support of our military to McCain for Obama, I hope that these brave men and women don't see Obama as someone who will keep them out of conflict. Contrary, I feel that Obama's weaekness who invite him to get us more involved then we are right now.

I hope that for America's Sake that these brave men and women vote for a fellow Navy guy who would be a great Commander in Chief.

    Take care and God Bless

    Luis

Thanks for the information. Kyle's rate is STS (sonar tech submarine). He has a cell phone but since BESS started we never hear from him, he is afraid to get behind in his studies, he was never one to put much time into the books in high school. He hopes to make a career out of the Navy since he got into sub school, its the most passion i've seen in him since he palyed baseball.

As both of my children grew up I was always preaching to them the duty of service. They both saw as I went to work as a police officer and herd the stories about me being a firefighter. Kyle choose to enlist on his own, no pushing from dad, I did though help him decide on the Navy instead of the Marine Corp. I have seen a change in Kyle since he left for G/L and even more now. He is more confident and sure of what he is doing.

Thanks for the movie title's, I haven't seen any of them, but would love to. Your right about firefighters being a close group of guy's. Most of my best friends are from my days as a firefighter/paramedic. It's a great profession and one I am proud to have done.

Kenorian I have to ask. How does Paul like living on a sub? My son thinks its tough on a aircraft carrier. I'm curious to know what it's like to live underwater. They are some true Sailors.

My son is an E-5 currently (joined in august 31 2005) and is currently working on all of his qualifications for ET Nuke (ET2). I have downloaded the pdf but have not a chance to read it yet.

My Son had a hard time getting out of port on this deployment. He said good bye to his wife three days in a row. He then came back into prot for a repair overnight about two weeks later. This is his third deployment on the Kentucky.

He may be able to go take his E6 test in fall of 2009.

Hi, I read your query to the Politics group, asking if there are any non Republicans here, I am a Democrat. So if you are one too, that makes two of us, lol.
