Welcome to NavyDads Edward ! I'm sure you'll find the site as fun and useful as I have. Explore and make some friends, add your comments to a discussion or two, read the postings in the various groups-- even start one or two. I have! If you have any questions or concerns about your sailor and what he is going through...ask! I'm sure someone here will have the answer or can point you in the right direction to find out. I'm lucky enough to have two sailors- my son Eric just returned from a seven-month cruise on the carrier Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) and my daughter Kat returned last fall from a seven-month cruise on the carrier Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72). And Edward this is a great place to brag about your sailor as well! So join in and let us know how your son is doing! Best Regards- Paul

Edward, Welcome Aboard! My son is an ABE aboard the USS Ronald Reagan in San Diego, Ca. and my wife and I couldn't be prouder of him. I found navyformoms in searching for answers to my son's future. I just knew their had to be a site for dads like n4m's but I was wrong. So I started this site so us dads would also have a place to call home. I'm new at this and I hope this site will benefit fathers that come behind us. So jump right in share concerns, join groups, share info, and show off your sailor. I'm so glad to find out their are so many proud Navy Dads just like myself. I hope this site benefits you and your family throughout your sons journey in the Navy. Thank Edward for his service for me and thanks again for joining us.
    Sincerely, EG

Hia Ed.Got a call from James to day from P'cola. They were just wasting time before they leave.Said they had a ball down there.Did you get the word about graduation being set back by a day?Seems that none of the commanding officers are going to be there on Tuesday.Oh well,at least we know that they will be home soon.

James did say that once leave is over they will be turning back around and heading back down to Gulf Port for ECS.5 weeks and then to his regular duty station.James said that he is going to NMCB 40,the fighting 40.Perfect place for him!Where did Eddie end up at?Have you heard?Be cool if they both ended up there!

Well time to go for now.Hope you had a wonderful Fathers Day!

Hey Ed... How has your time with Eddie been? Good I hope ! I kinda hate to see James leave. The time has been to dang short,as he has been running around so much visiting friends, mostly the girls I think later in the evening{:-)He leaves tomorrow morning back to Gulf Port.He has a 22 day hold for ECS to start, then five weeks of actual training. He said something yesterday about trying to get home on labor day,but we shall see.Time to go get some coffee going! You and your family have a great 4th and we'll talk to you later.

Hey Ed..... How are things going down your way?Haven't heard from you in a while.Hope all is well with you and your family.Things around here have finally slowed down to a more normal pace.Heard anything from Eddie lately?James has been staying busy with work details until yesterday as he starts ECS on Monday.Four weeks of that and then on to Hueneme to get settled in.I know he is ready to get going!Well time to go for now.Take care and the best to you and the family.

Hi Ed....Things here are pretty good.Just finished the baseball season last week so we now have a fair amount of time to catch up on all of the chores that get left behind during the season, and the weather has finally cooled off and started to rain a bit......

We have been talking with James every couple of days since Ecs started 10 days ago.So far,so good !He passed his field first aid with a perfect score and his team did really good on their land nav exercises.

They started firearms training on Monday late and James has been having the time of his life.Nothing like a redneck ,a firearm and tons of ammunition! lol...... He is hoping to requalify on both the 9mm and the m4.I think that he thinks he can get at least 1 ranking higher on both weapons....

He called yesterday and sounded like he had been rode hard and put away wet.The heat, with the humidity and all of the combat gear has been whooping on most all of the sailors. Well time to shut it down and get ready for work. You all have a good one Ed and tell every one hey! We'll talk to you later!

Hi Ed....Talked to James a couple of times this past week..He has had a couple of run ins with a po1 in ECS this last week so he has been having to do a little bit of punishment chores to placate the powers that (wanna) be!!!!lol....

Their group started their m4 training on Friday.James did pretty good with the 9mm training last week.He ended up with a 234points out of 240 points scored. He called Thursday evening all pumped up that he had shot expert in quals.Kinda put a bunch in one persons panties !Gotta love the military. He has something to prove to somebody now besides his old man.Two more weeks, then off to Port Hueneme and hopefully a more quiet time until they deploy next August. My oldest daughter is planning on going down there to visit James before the baby is born in March.Well time to go for now .You take care and we'll talk to you later with a new update.

Hi Ed..... Yes,James is doing pretty good. They started training with the m4 today so he has more than likely been in seventh heaven all day.Glad to hear that Eddie got his ride!James wanted to fly up for Elk season in November and take his Bronco back with him afterwards, but i vetoed the idea.I suggested he buy a decent rig down there. The old girl works good for muddin around here, but not on the highways of Cali i think.

Yes,the individual he had the run in with. When we talked that night i told him he may not respect the person he was dealing with, but he needed to respect the rank. That is how the world works! In my opinion the po was wrong in the worst way(just an old Army team leader talking),but the way to put this person in their place was to out shoot, out think, out train him in every way possible.Best way in the world to deal with an arrogant, cocky person. No fists,no trouble!Still able to get your point across!!!!!!!!

As for the tunes, just an old geriactric rocker looking to jam,ALWAYS{:-)
Well i have typed enough for now.You take care and i'll catch up to you a bit later!

Hi Ed....Long time no hear.Hope everything is going good down your way.Have you heard much from Eddie?Does he know when he gets to come home for a visit even if he was just home a couple of months ago.

James has been calling a few times a week. Not really sure when he will be making his way back up here.He was gonna try for Thanksgiving, but now it may be Christmas at the soonest. He is still tying to get some leave during Elk season, but it is not looking to good.Gonna miss him in camp!
He said he was put into an air detachment and placed on a crew served weapon, the mark 19.He was pretty stoked when he called to give us that piece of info. They are still scheduled to deploy next August, before his 21st bday,so i guess the trip to Vegas will just have to wait till he gets back.Damn how the time just seems to fly!He will be 22 when that happens.Man I am getting old {:-)Well time to go for now...Take care!!!
