- I am 45 years old who served his country proudly with 82nd Airborne Division between 82-85 and now have privilage to have my youngest son embark on a new adventure with the US Navy. I have worked as a firefighter/paramedic for over 20 years now and proud to say still enjoy my job but lets face it, this is a young mans job. Have 6 beautiful children and just as beatiful grandchildren.

- Pride, Pride and then more Pride. I feel he made an outstanding decision to join the greatest military in the entire world. Although I am nervous about how he will adjust to military life, I know without reservation he will do great for himself.

My son is an ABE aboard the USS Ronald Reagan in San Diego, Ca. and my family and I couldn't be prouder of him. When he first enlisted I found NavyForMoms in searching for answers to my son's future. I just knew their had to be a site for dads like n4m's but I was wrong. So I started this site so us dads would also have a place to call home. I'm new at this and I hope this site will benefit fathers that come behind us. So jump right in share concerns, join groups, share info, and show off your Sailor. I'm so glad to find out their are so many proud Navy Dads just like myself. I hope this site benefits you and your family throughout your son's journey in the Navy. My son is graduating ET A school on the 4th of september. He has said that studying is important as well as paying attention. The instructors are ther to help the students so if he has issues make sure he gets in to talk to them. The schooling is long and that can be taxing. My son has learned to balance his time pretty well through the last 24 weeks including finding time to hang with friends and be a young man on his own. He still tries to get me to do things for them and I am working on getting him to be a little less dependant since he is 3000 miles away. am looking forwardto seeing him late on the 4th
