    Welcome to NavyDads !

Play the following video for a brief introduction to NavyDads.com. We've made some cosmetic changes to the site since this video was made, but navigation remains the same.

He's not going to need much for the first few weeks, he'll be earning his privileges back as the weeks pass by, including the wearing of civilian clothes, I can't recall how long it takes (4 weeks rings a bell), but it's plenty of time for you to get his new address and then start sending him approved items as his privileges are given back. We have been told that you can give him his cell phone and laptop if you meet him at the airport on his way out to A School, you are able to meet them at the airport USO; if he has a laptop and you bring it, it must be in a plain black backpack only. We are not allowed to bring them to the airport, the Navy will get them there, we're only allowed to meet them until their flight leaves.

    Steve,

Yes, each SR gets to make the "I'm a Sailor" call. Sometimes recruits head to the rack before making the call home though. It depends on the Sailor on how soon the parents get the phone call. He could be catching up on rest first, eating, phone's could be crowded, etc. If Nathan went through BS last night, I'm sure you'll receive a call today. Keep us posted.
