- I'm a professional, who, because of an accident as a teenager, could not physically serve in military service.
I come from a family that served in almost all branches. My father and one uncle served in the Army; another uncle was in the Coast Guard. All saw action in the European theater in WWII.
My father-in-law was a B-25 pilot in the Pacific, who was shot down in New Guinea in 1945.
In my generation, my brother was in the Army, and I had two brothers-in law who served: one in the Navy the other in the Army. A cousin spent his entire work life as an engineer in the NASA program and as a QC engineer for Grumman Navy aircraft.
Unfortunately, my daughter Alexandra is the only one in her generation who has stepped up to the call for duty.
Although I have not always agreed with the way in which political leaders have employed our military, I have always respected those Americans who have served our nation. - What Brought You To This Site:

- Extremely proud! A chance to connect vicariously to the lost opportunity to be connected to the Navy.
After my junior year in high school, I was recruited by the U.S. Naval Academy for football and track, and was quite honored by the interest.
Unfortunately, in the summer prior to my senior year I had a severe accident to my foot, which ended my athletic prowess to leverage acceptance to Annapolis.
My daughter Alexandra turned down small colleges interested in her playing soccer, and decided instead to "do something." She was only interested in the Navy and scored well on her tests and received the duty she wanted...to learn navigation. - What Is Your Relationship With Your Sailor

When my son first enlisted in the Navy I found NavyForMoms in searching for answers to his future. I just knew their had to be a site for dads but found out I was wrong. So I started this site so us dads would also have a place to call home. I'm new at this and hope this site will benefit fathers that follow behind us. So jump right in share concerns, join groups, share info, and show off your Sailor. I'm so glad to find out their are so many proud Navy Dads just like myself. I hope this site benefits you and your family throughout your daughters journey in the Navy. Thank Alexandra for her service for me and thanks again for joining us.
