I am a Navy Vet here to assist in any manner I can. First of all I do not know all the answers, I am here to learn with you so we can find them. I spent 11 years in the Navy as an ET2/E5 (86 to 97). I went to bootcamp in San Diego in 86, then to 'A' School in Great Lakes 86-87. I then went to the USS Ainsworth FF-1090 (88-91), Shore Duty in Charleston, SC(91-94) and Plankowner on USS John C Stennis CVN-74(94-97). I currently work for the Department of Veterans Affairs (sorry I can't answer personal questions, Privacy act of 1974, I respect everyones privacy) and I will try my best to get you the information you need, just don't overwhelm me.
Welcome to NavyDads Tim! I'm sure you'll find the site as fun and useful as I have. Explore and make some friends, add your comments to a discussion or two, read the postings in the various groups-- even start one or two. I have! I'm lucky enough to have two sailors- my son Eric is almost two months into a seven-month cruise on the carrier Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) and my daughter Kat just returned from her seven-month cruise on the carrier Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72). Thank you for your years of service to our great Country and for answering questions that our members might have. Best Regards- Paul
Tim "Welcome Aboard". Let me start by thanking you for your service to this great country. I'm sure us parents will benefit from your insight and knowledge that you are willing to share with us. My son is currently stationed in San Diego aboard the USS Ronald Reagan. It warms my heart to see the Navy veterans wanting to help their fellow young Sailors throughout their journey in the Navy. Thanks again for being a part of this site and for your service. We're glad to have you with us.
Sincerely, EG
