A proud Mother of 3 boys, ages 19, 16 & 14. My oldest will be leaving soon for boot camp. Came to this sight to have some connection to what he will be doing. My father is a Navy Vet of vietnam & one of my brother's is Navy Vet of Desert Storm & currently in the reserves & my other borther is active duty Army. I guess you would say we are a military family as the history goes back to grandfathers that served in WWII. For the past 6 years I was the faclicitator of a Fisher House Golf Outing supporting our military solders.
What Brought You To This Site:
My son is recently enlisted (before PIR)
What Were Your Feelings When Your Sailor Joined The Navy:
It is hard to put into words all the emotions that weld up inside. I was proud, but nervous. Not knowing what he would be facing or where he will be going. Also, felt excitement for him.
What Is Your Relationship With Your Sailor
Mom
Please Share: How Did You Find Us?
A friend of my son also joined and his Mother told me to check the sight out as it was helping her. I guess both of us mom's are looking for some insight.
When my son first enlisted in the Navy I found NavyForMoms in searching for answers to his future. I just knew their had to be a site for dads like n4m's but I was wrong. So I started this site so us dads would also have a place to call home. I new at this and hope this site helps Navy families that follow behind me. I hope this site benefits you or may hopefully point you in the right direction. Thank Mark for his service and thanks for joining us.
Welcome aboard, Theresa! I have found this sight to be very informative, wished it was around when your brothers were in, it would have helped with the anxiety level!
Theresa, thanks for your comment. I'm inviting you to become a member of the Intelligent Specialist group. Hopefully, we can share experiences and learn about our son's and daughter's progress. Please, feel free to leave any comments or questions that you might have. Hooyah!
