My son is an ABE aboard the USS Ronald Reagan in San Diego, Ca. and my family and I couldn't be prouder of him. When he first enlisted I found NavyForMoms in searching for answers to my son's future. I just knew their had to be a site for dads like n4m's but I was wrong. So I started this site so us dads would also have a place to call home. I'm new at this and I hope this site will benefit fathers that come behind us. So jump right in share concerns, join groups, share info, and show off your Sailor. I'm so glad to find out their are so many proud Navy Dads just like myself. I hope this site benefits you and your family throughout your sons journey in the Navy. Thank Alex for his service for me and for yours as well. Thanks again for joining us.
John, I was wondering if I could ask about the two Chiefs I met while out at Atsugi Japan to visit my son. Chief Lally has been out there a while, and Chief Carlton is relatively new. Both were very very complementary about my son Garrett, and said they were hand picking him based on his perfomance getting to be the only to qual for PC out of many which they sent down to the line. Now they said they hand picked him for the USS Cowpens to get the experience needed for them to be giving Garrett a leadership role when some current AW's come back to San Diego early next year. Just wondering if you know either of these two, as I was quite impressed and please of how happy they were of my son's character and performance.
John, thank you for your comments. I am proud of him, and they told me to be when I was there, especially Sr Chief Lally. Thank you for your insite. I will ask from time to time about his next steps to be sure he is going in the right direction. Your kind comments are appreciated. I look forward to hearing of my son's experiances on the Cowpens and how that might be helping him towards his next goals.
