Hi,
I was born in Washington D.C. , I have lived in Maryland, Massachuetts, Oregon, and Arizona. I currently reside in Chandler Arizona with my wife Peggy and our two dogs. I work for the Maricopa Advanced Technology Education Center in Phoenix where I am developing educational resources for faculty teaching electronics technology in community colleges across the United States.
I have worked in the Semiconductor industry for 34 years as a production manager and an equipment maintenance engineer.

What Were Your Feelings When Your Sailor Joined The Navy:
I am very proud of my daughter Kelly who recently graduated from Arizona State University and is now preparing for entering the Navy in March 2009 in avionics weapons systems. She is following in her grand-father's shoes through her enlistment in the Navy. My father served aboard U.S.S. William Ward Burrows Attack Transport in the Pacific Theater from 1942 through 1946. Go Navy.
Tom I'm glad you found us. I'm still new to this. Learning as I go. My son has been in about 7 months. He is stationed in San Diego on the USS Ronald Reagan which is currently on their cruise. So I'm a little ahead of you. Please feel free to pick my brain if you want. I'm here to share my knowledge with anyone behind me. We have a great group of dads and moms on here. Ask a question and somebody on this site will have an answer. Kelly will do fine in boot camp. My son actually liked it. He said if they would have given him his cell phone he would have stayed. Just tell her to start running. They say that is the hardest thing to do is the timed run. It is in a non ventilated building. My son said it was killer. I'm curious to know how Kelly found out about this site. If you don't mind I'd love to hear. This site is still young but I'm hoping to add all the info we parents need to survive with our children in the Navy. ttyl
labels are printed and should go out tomorrow- please stop by the Care Packages for our Military group and consider joining so we can share ideas and send care packages to our sailors and troops...........
Tom we have alot in common with our girls. My daughter followed in her Grandpa's footsteps also. My Dad served in WWII on a PT boat as a machinist head gunner. Sami my daughter enlisted however right out of High School. In my opinion I wanted her to wait but she wanted to get her life started so I supported her 100%. At first especially while they are in Boot Camp it is very tough but when you see them graduated its all worth it! Sami is now in A school to become a Cryptologist(CTT), which is all high security so we do not get to hear much about it other than its an experience she will never forget. Keep in touch and let me know if i can help out in any way. GO NAVY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
