I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 21 years now and have been blessed with two wonderful kids, my daughter 16 and my son 19 who has enlisted with the US Navy. I am very proud of both of my children and proud to be a Navy mom.

What Were Your Feelings When Your Sailor Joined The Navy:
At first I was scared and then worried but I told my son I would support his decision all the way and would always be here for him to support and pray for him as he served his country.

    Mari, I noticed your question in the Ask A Sailor group but I'm not sure of how many or how often the Sailors check the group. My son also attended A school in P'cola. They do get weekend liberty. You can go visit him anytime you want just make sure he doesn't have watch that weekend. He will be able to travel up to 300 miles from base if his chit is approved at the beginning. Depending on the time spent in P'cola, he will eventually be able to fly home no matter how far it is if he's there for a long period of time. Hope this helps a little.
