Stick 724, Welcome Aboard! I found navyformoms in searching for answers to my son's future. I just knew their had to be a site for dads like n4m's but I was wrong. So I started this site so us dads would also have a place to call home. I'm new at this and I hope this site will benefit fathers that come behind us. So jump right in share concerns, join groups, share info, and show off your sailor. I'm so glad to find out their are so many proud Navy dads just like myself. I hope this site benefits you and your family throughout your sons journey in the Navy. Thank Thomas for his service for me and thanks again for joining us.
Sincerely, EG
Welcome to NavyDads Ron! I'm sure you'll find the site as fun and useful as I have. Explore and make some friends, add your comments to a discussion or two, read the postings in the various groups-- even start one or two. I have! If you have any questions or concerns about your sailor and what he is going through...ask! I'm sure someone here will have the answer or can point you in the right direction to find out. I'm lucky enough to have two sailors- my son Eric is on the second half of a seven-month cruise on the carrier Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) and my daughter Kat recently returned from a seven-month cruise on the carrier Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72). And Ron this is a great place to brag about your sailor as well! So join in and let us know how Thomas is doing! Best Regards- Paul
Ron thankyou for your sons service and as for a father , the sacrifice of a son that is a long way from home. My son Justin has been gone for a while now and he is somewhere in Iraq. I really don't have a clue where he is, he won't say but we stay in contact by email as often as possible. Justin has been gone for nearly6 months this time and he sounds by his emails that he has been really busy with his duties and sounds in great spirits. He informed me that in his little spare time he has that he is learning martial arts courtesy of the USMC . I know this from marines and former marines that they take care of there navy corpsman. Even though Justin hasn't said for sure but he has made rumblings that he was thinking of re-enlisting. This is his 2ed tour over there and as a dad I do worry about him but his mom and I raised him right and we just put our faith in God and his upbringing and he will be home soon. Good luck with your son and just remember that your son may be the only chance somebody elses son may have the chance to make it home alive. Thank God for all of our corspman!!! Darwyn Proehl
Ron,
I just left a comment on the main posting wall. My son reported the same disorganization prior to deployment at Pendleton as your's did.
best,

Hi Ron ~ I read your but haven't been able to find it here on the site, so here I am on your page. My son is not deployed, but currently waiting to class up at Camp Pendleton for FMTB. Once he is thru training, he'll be deployed on the front lines with his group of Marines. In response to your question, if you don't mind talking to a lot of mom's, I suggest you join N4M's, as well. There are a lot more members with a huge diversity in regards to where their sailor is in their career. There are also some dad's. Kinda vice versa from this site! Check it out. God bless your sailor and may he be safe during his deployment. Please give him a big thank you from a corpsman mom. Would love to stay in contact with you since Thomas is ahead of Morgan. It's always nice to know someone who is ahead of my sailor.
