Event Description

Hero’s Day Event

On July 2 2011, City Center Market Mankato and Old Town Mankato will launch Hero’s Day. City Center Market Mankato is collaborating with Old Town store owners on Riverfront Drive to be part of the event.  The day will be filled with family-friendly activities such as carnival games, a hayride, live entertainment and much more. The City Center Market and The Old Town Store owners will be honoring our heroes of all branches of the United States Military (active and Veterans), the Mankato and North Mankato Police and Fire Departments, Sheriff’s Department State Patrol and Gold Cross and the Mayo Health System Life Link. Starting at the market, families will receive a map of participating market vendors and participating downtown businesses. Families can visit participating stores and vendors along the walkabout decorated in red white and blue. Children can play a game to win prizes at each participating store as they enjoy the beautiful summer weather.  Parents can pick up a map at the City Center Market and drop a quarter in the Veterans Memorial donation can at every participating vendor and store listed on their map. When they have received a stamp on their map they will be included in a drawing to win a prize (all maps must be turned into the market).  Activities and hayrides are offered at no charge to the public.  Sponsorship opportunities are available
