Navy Dads

My son, Brandon, arrived at RTC last night and I got his 10 second call at 1:50 am saying he was there and fine. It was obvious they had him reading a script so he did not forget to say what Navy wanted said. Very proud of him. Now the countdown to graduation. I have started letters so I can send one a day once I have his address.

Gene,

I was worried when I got the "kid in a box" last Friday and his envelopes, paper, and stamps were in it. Found out that the Navy supplies some writing materials and limited postage so upon receipt of the form letter I got today, I sent his first letter along with a book of stamps. Better to have more then not enough. Looking forward to his call I believe will be next week which is week three and PIR August 17.

Mine graduates Aug 17 as well. Thanks for confirmation, I will send stamps.

remember that you are guaranteed two calls....the "I'm here" call when they arrive at RTC and the "I'm a sailor call" at the conclusion of BS21....the other calls you MAY get are gifts by the RDCs.

Our son has a very kind recruiter, so we received address within 3 days.  His division is 260, how do we know when graduation date is, haven't received anything from our son.  He left 6/21.  We are assuming 8/17 for PIR, and would like to know for vacation request purposes for our jobs.

keep checking this link for official TG PIR dates: http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/upcoming_grads.asp

Div 260 date is not listed yet- because the generally reduced number of divisions at a PIR, you may be targeting 24 Aug.....but wait for updates and the form letter from your son

My daughter just graduated yhis last Friday what a great day. It will happen soon for you all also.
