Hi All..our recurit/son Rich is in his fourth week now...graduation on July 29th. Thanks to all who supply information for others. You are a godsend! Two questions..
We received two phone calls from our recruit. 2nd call was last week and he told his wife he was scheduled to call over the weekend....no call..is this a normal thing? I'm guessing his division messed-up and lost calling priviledge? They said this could happen!
Second question...any list of place to stay for PIR (with shuttle service as close as possible). I've seen Mariott listed. Any other suggestions? Thanks so much!

Consider yourself lucky to have had that many calls!! Calls are a earned privilege and are few and few between...if at all......
In the PIR group we have a discussion called Great Lakes Lodging Guide.......click it
Dick, sorry to hear about the phone call but that happens. Our, now sailor, only got to make one phone call between "I arrived safely" and "I'm a sailor". It was only 10 min. which he split between his Mother and girlfriend. Guess you know where I rank.
What I wanted to comment on is the 9 mo. wife. When you arrive if you tell the MP's that you have a pregnant woman who will need a wheel chair they will be happy to oblige. I found everyone at RTC to be very helpful. My wife was on crutches and as she came up trying to get her in a wheel chair. Also, your daughter-in-law will get a seat right up front! Good Luck.
Thanks much Douglas. The wheel chair advice is very handy indeed. + front row seat...wonderful!
I rank behind the wife and mother too. All well...I'm used to that! :) Thanks again!
