Navy Dads

Hi one and all,

I jsut read on the 7th Pacific Fleet page that the GW is heading down under ie here to Australia.  Hopefully they'll come to Sydney otherwise what I'm about to say next is completely screwed.  LOL!!!!

If any of the sons, fathers, brothers, uncles or friends would like to meet or stay with an Aussie family they'd be more than welcome.  I can provide a weekend tour guide, a family home to stay in, home cooked meals and a warm comfy bed.  Unfortunately I am a 45 min train ride from the city which may make things difficult for reporting in etc, etc.

If anyone has any questions about what to see and do while out here or where to go please just ask.  And no we don't have Kangaroo's hopping down our streets nor do we have Koala bears living on the harbour bridge.  Just wanted to dispel a few common myths.  You have to go to a zoo to see the pests.

If you know of someone who'd appreciate this offer and they are headed this way onboard a ship by all means, please pass on my email address and I'll see what I can do to make their stay memorable.

Thanks for reading.

How cool!! My Sailor daughter works the Flight Deck on the GW!! She is on her 3rd and final cruise on the GW and will be her first time to Austrailia!! My husband was Navy and he went to Australia on his West Pac cruise back in the early 80's!! He loved it!! Thanks for sharing because we had not heard from our Sailor yet since she was deployed with her Squadron. I wish I could see Australia  but guess the next best thing is her seeing it for me!! LOL

LOL!!!!  All I did was add a page to my own facebook page.  Who knew I'd be able to tell people where their loved ones were going.  That gives me a real kick of pleasure and very glad I could help.  Will let you know when the GW arrives as it'll no doubt be all over our news.
