Navy Dads

My son just heard that bootcamp will be extended to 13 weeks as of 01/10 but can't say the information is reliable. He is scheduled to leave for boot camp on Jan. 4. Has anybody else heard of the Navy revising the length of bootcamp?

I talked to a sailor yesterday - (he went through boot last year) and he heard a similar "rumor" that boot camp will be extended approximatley 1 more week for some more 'specific' training. He wasn't exactly sure though, but that he heard and glad he went through when he did.
I just posted the question to the Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy's Facebook page. I will let you know when I get a response.
MCPON says there is no truth to the rumor. Bootcamp is not being lengthened.
When should we be receiving the graduation packet. My son should be graduating May 7th.
there isn't a "graduation packet" anymore...what in specific do you need to know? Parking passes if required are only available by download...check the PIR Dates link in the About This Site area on the right side of every NavyDads page. You'll need the password that your sailor sent in his form letter he sent after arriving at Great Lakes.
