Navy Dads

My daughter started her job two days ago in Coronado and her chief told her she wants to sign her up for C-school what is C- school and is this a good thing? Her job is IT.

it's a good thing.... more advanced than A-school!!
In some rating fields it requires the service member to be a particular pay grade ie E5 or E6 depending on the school.(some times a waiver is approved for junior paygrades). C schools are your more Advanced training that is usually NEC driven which some commands have a requirement to maintain a particular number of personnel with that training skill. When I was Active duty and attended C school, I passed the next Rating exam for E-6 (smoked it) long time ago :) It was a hard school but well worth it to help me do my job in a more senior Leadership Role. I am not familiar with the IT C-school, But like any C-School if you turn it down you may never get the chance again. They don't send everyone to them. Encourage your daughter to jump on the change for it and good luck......
Thanks, I let her know what you said about not passing up opportunities. Her comment I know dad. I forget she’s 18 she knows everything. Really she makes good decisions she did join the Navy.
