MAYBE THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN LISTED UNDER "BOOT CAMP." BUT, SINCE THERE'S A SEPARATE HEADING FOR CARE PACKAGES...
IF YOU DECIDE TO SEND A CASE OF GOODIES TO YOUR RECRUIT IN BOOT CAMP, YOU HAVE TO SEND ENOUGH FOR ALL 80 OR SO RECRUITS IN THEIR DIVISION.
I TOLD MY SON I WAS PLANNING ON SENDING 100 BOXES OF CRACKER JACKS AND HE SAID NOT TO DO THAT. ALL IT WOULD TAKE IS ONE STRAY PIECE OF POPCORN OR LICK-ON TATTOO ON THE FLOOR AND THEY'D BE CLEANING THE BARRACKS FOR A WEEK. MY SON'S KINDA PARANOID THAT WAY, BUT YOU MIGHT WANT TO CHECK FIRST IF YOU FEEL INCLINED TO "HELP" OUT BY SENDING TREATS.

I WAS ALSO TOLD (BY A LONG-TIME SAILOR) THAT IF YOU SEND POSTCARDS THEY ARE READ ALOUD TO EVERYONE AND THAT IF YOU SEND PHOTOS EVERYONE GETS TO SEE THEM. MY SON SAYS THIS IS NOT THE CASE. MAYBE IN THE OLD DAYS....
In my first two letters that were mailed today, I sent printed photos that basically almost cover an entire sheet of 8-1/2" x 11" printer paper. Now I'm hoping that they are not too big.
Will do. Never occurred to me that they were too big. Guess I'm just in the habit of making them big so my wife and I can see them. LOL
