Just got the first call this morning! So good to hear my sons voice! It was only for like 5 minutes. He says it's hard but he likes it. They just started doing PT yesterday. He said people in his division are stupid and keep getting in trouble. Lol. He has had one class and takes his swim test on Monday. Got his peanut butter shot a few days ago and said that hurt alot. Lol. Not sure what the peanut butter shot is though?

That's a bummer Chris. "Kids" is right...that they are...still kids to us old dads. I saw your post on the other string regarding staying at the Navy Lodge. I just may be staying there myself with my daughter and my ex-wife is now flying in as well. I'll know in a few days if I'm staying an if so, would like to make sure to shake your hand and congratulate you and your son on a great achievement. Sorry 'bout your Orioles...but you guys will always have Cal Ripken Jr... a player my son admired (rightfully) in all the years he played in the Cal Ripken Jr. Youth League. Take care...will drop a note if we are staying at the lodge. One more thing: I am hoping to join in on the "Meet-and-Greet" that is hosted by Sarge. It takes place the night before PIR...I believe it's an opportunity for other parents of that PIR class to meet if they want. Just an fyi.
our PIR is on Dec 5th and we have booked at the Navy Lodge. We will be the Clampett looking folks except we aint hillbillies.. LOL It would be good to meet some folks while we are there. Dont know if we will get to make the meet and greet, but will try. we will get there Thursday afternoon. so hopefully we can make it..
Right on Daron...I'll keep tabs with you and Chris. It'll be good to meet some other parents who have been on the same journey anxiously waiting to see our young kids matured into young men and women in a matter of weeks! I can relate to the Clampett look (usually when I go camping). We're flying in from WA state...chose the 3 1/2 hour flight over the 30 hour drive. FYI...take a look at the "Meet-n-Greet"...I believe it starts in the early evening so you and yours may be able to attend. Sounds like a nice event from what posts I've read.
I am planning on being loaded up and on the road by 5am so we try and make it to Sarge's meet n greet. With a 12 hour drive...should be there around 5-6pm.
Here's to smooth driving and clear weather for your entire trip....you will not regret the effort to participate in Sarge's event. Meeting your fellow parents, starting acquaintanceships/friendships, shopping, enjoying good food, and obtaining quality, heartfelt, helpful information. It was a wonderful experience for me/us.
Right on Chris. Good deal!
Just confirmed with Navy Lodge. I fly in to Milwaukee near 3:30 so I'll be getting into GL near 4:45ish...and I believe the Meet-and-Greet is a 4:45pm-9:45pm event. Hope you and Daron are able to make it.
