Navy Dads

...and the wife is climbing the walls.  Our son, Brian, ship 2, DIV 945 hasn't written or called in over two weeks.  We're 10 days from PIR and flying up from Florida, and sure would like to know he's okay.

I WOULDN'T WORRY TO MUCH ,ME AND MY WIFE JUST WENT THRUOGH THE SAME THING.ONE THING WE DID FIND OUT WAS IF HE WASN'T GOING TO GRADUATE OR IF HE WAS BEING SENT HOME YOU WOULD BE NOTIFIED RIGHT AWAY,MY SON JUST GRADUATED FROM DIVISION 940 AT GREAT LAKES IN AUGUST,I BELIEVE 945 WOULD BE A SPECIAL DIVISION LIKE MY SON WAS IN.IT IS THE PEOPLE PLAYING MUSIC OR CARRYING FLAGS AND SUCH.HERE IS A WEB SITE THAT WILL TELL YOU HIS GRAD DATE AND WERE YOU CAN PRINT OUT THE GATE PASSES BEFORE YOU GO.I HOPE THIS HELPED YOU.

the link doesn't do anything.....PIR schedules are on the right side of every NavyDads page....http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/upcoming_grads.asp

Hopefully, you found out the things that you needed to know to help your piece of mind. Go to the website listed below (or above ) and click on "get gate pass"

http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/upcoming_grads.asp

TG 45 —  07 Divisions (315–320 & 945) Graduate Friday, Sept. 23, 2011 Click here Get gate pass

You will need the password that was on the original letter sent to you by your son indicating the list of Indended Guest.

The password will be on the top of the second page.

Good luck.

My son is in the same DIV and ship.  Paul is correct "no news is good news". I think that some times they are just too wiped out to write.  They know where they are and what they are doing during boot camp, and they just forget that the rest of us (parents, family and friends) tend to worry.  We are use to hearing from our kids more often. Hang in there.
