When does our recruit find out what airport they will be flying out of after graduation? it would be nice if we could schedule our flights through the same airport.
They don't find out until just before Graduation when they get their orders....Unfortunately...you won't know until you have been through the ceremony.
Jay...Your Sailor will know when the time comes....could be either/or. You can get a Gate pass at the ticket booth to accompany your Sailor until Departure....no additional charge for the TSA strip search....;)
Our Sailor's PIR was last Friday 8/11/2017, and the next day he had to be at the airport early for his flight. We had a hard time getting any information on where to meet him, and when to be there, other than what time he was leaving the base, and what flight he was on. We almost went to the terminal his flight was on, which would have been the wrong move. Go to arrivals at Terminal 2 and look for the USO representative. They were very helpful! We must have looked like other clueless families because he came over and asked if we were looking for our Sailor. He had all the information, and helped facilitate getting the gate pass - you do not need to waste time calling the airlines or trying to get a pass at the ticket counter on your own. Thank you to the USO!
