Guess who I just got a phone call from?
I just made a post about Navy movies and no sooner did I finish then my cell rang with a Illinois area code. And it was the Son! Seems he needed some additional info to complete his security clearance investigation and the wife and I were very much happy to hear his voice. We got about 10 mins to talk and he was in high spirits. Asked him how he liked Boot so far and he said he loved it and was having a blast! There was absolutely no stress in his voice, hell has laughing on the phone with us. The only phone call that could be better, is the one after Battle Stations. This made our day and now I KNOW he's got this thing wired. When your kid says he loves Boot Camp....in the second week.....it's all good. I just hope nobody overheard the conversation and think he's too happy. Then the mental evaluations begin, the extra push ups, extra watches, etc.
My boy loves Boot Camp. After seeing the hand writing on his form letter and what he said, I'm going back to MEPS to check for pods. What the hell happened to my kid?

Jealous..... So very jealous. I'm trying to keep the frame of mind that "No News is Good News", but it is OhSoHard.

What Ship/Division is your son in? My son just graduated December 5th and my nephew arrived at boot camp December 3rd. He is in Ship 12, Div. 077.
