How is Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years gonig to effect PIR over the next two months?

My son got to RTC on Nov 6.  While he is there, he will get to experience Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years.  If all was normal, if you take his first week as P days.  Then the following week would be 1-1.  Normal math would have him graduating on Jan 4.  But the real question is will those 3 holidays push his graduation out an additional week?

thanks,

I am in the same boat as you! We received his package yesterday, but did not get an address to write to him. I thought we would get a letter with the package giving us PIR info. I am a mental mess! Thank you all for the warm welcome.

So now I got the address...

SR Duff, Benjamin, B
SHIP 12 DIV 047
3515 Sailor Drive
GREAT LAKES IL 60088-3515

Does anyone know when they graduate?

My son arrived the same day and I have been wondering the same thing.  We have a friend whose son arrived on Nov. 1st and they found out yesterday that he graduates on 12-28 so it stands to reason that you are correct thinking Jan. 4th.  In a way I hope it gets pushed back to the 11th because airfare will be alot cheaper than it is that close to the holidays.  No matter when it is my wife and I will be there.

We haven't recieved his address yet so hopefully soon.  We got the box a couple of days ago. I will post if I hear anything about graduation.  Please do the same...Thanks

Brady,

I got the envelope today with my sons address and graduation date.  He will graduate on January 4th and his address is:

SR Wescovich, Aaron, M

Ship 11 Div 049

Recruit Training Command

3505 Sailor Drive

Great Lakes, IL 60088-3503

It looks like our recruits will graduate the same day but be on different ships and divisions.

I would venture that the graduation would be pushed back a few days to compensate for the days that don't count as official training days, even though they will be training.I went through basic during the holidays, many years ago, and the holidays pushed my graduation day back by 5 days. My son got to RTC on the 6th as well and we are guessing that his graduation will be the week of the 11th. If i get any word from him and it hasn't been posted here, I will gladly post....

My son arrived at RTC on 11/13
I received a letter today with address .
He also will be graduating on Jan 04

So I got my flights all fixed. I leave from Guam on Jan 1 heading to Ky, then off to Chicago for PIR....I have not been there since I was in EN "A" school in 1991....Cant wait to see how things have changed.
