wow not the words you want to hear but that's the call i just got. My son said he did not pass his PSA along with a,lot of other recruits due to the navy calling it hazardous conditions. he is going to go again on Wednesday so hope i get the call then because I fly out on Thursday morning. Does anyone know who i may contact to verify if my son has this information correct that he may still graduate this coming friday or will it be pushed back by 2 weeks because if so i need to move on this now because of work, flights, hotels my other son school ect.
Thanks
Duane
Update 2/16/15: my son was put in FIT back on 2/6/15 and got a call today from my son he missed his run by 1 sec but injured his leg on the next PFA and been on crutches last 5 days he seeing Dr. on Tuesday so one of two things will happen he gets sent to physical therapy then continue with FIT when he is healed or they will do separations and he can come back in 6 months. Where can i get more info on what happens during that 6 months waiting time like do i need to get insurance on him? does he sign up all over again ect. My son is in good spirits considering everything and is not giving up hope. he wants stay there and continue on after treatments but not sure how long they will do that for. He knows i support him 100% and in doing so i want to find out what i can do on my end in case they do send him home i can have the medical stuff taken care of so he can get the treatments he needs to heal.
thanks again
Duane

ahh ok its PFA i thought he said PSA and we all catch a plane in two days now talk about cutting it close to the wire.
well i was informed if i don't get a call today then my son wont be in this Friday PIR. I guess recruits only call when they pass the run so i would assume if i dont hear from him by 8pm Chicago time then he did not pass the run and i can cancel my flight, hotel ect... I am sick to my stomach right now waiting for the call.
after my son called i mailed RTC to confirm what my son said and they sent me the e-mail back stating he will call when he passes the run test since he failed it once before and called with the scripted I am not a sailor. He ran again today and did not call and some how my ex was able to get confirmation from RTC that he missed the run time by a little bit and so he wont graduate. He will continue to do the run every other day till he passes then do Battle stations then ship out asap to A-school with no graduation. I am sure my son is heart broken in not being able to see us and graduating. I am not sure what to do other then send a letter to pick his spirits up so he can move on. I will attend his A-school graduation then and see him in a few months and hope he will have some leave so we can have a weekend together.
How long can a recruit be in FIT unit before being sent home?
not sure what the current policy is, but I seem to remember from someplace that they are given two chances to pass the run
oh man ok well i hope someone else who may have been through this reads this and can fill me in
Duane,
My wife and I kept waiting for a call, "I'm a sailor" never got it. We left on our scheduled flight, no call.
went to meet and greet, still no call. We found out all 4 divisions going to BS21 did not have time to call.
(we talked to a lot of other parents at meet and greet in those divisions) We went figuring no news is good news. He graduated last Friday. Just saying you may not here anything and he'll graduate.
bump due to topic update
he is hoping they send him to SRC but if its going to take to long i think they will send him home as well. He missed his PFA run by 1 second so he was pushing himself even harder and that's when something popped in the leg and lower back but not wanting to stop he continued on which may have injured himself further. Kid is trying so hard and wont give up and does not want to leave but has accepted if they send him home the goal is to get clean bill of health and get back in 6 months.
