promotional text : On September 16th, 2011, The Independence Fund will once again host Gary Sinise as he leads his Lt. Dan Band in a concert honoring our severely injured veterans. In addition, the weekends festivities will include a family 5K run/walk through historic downtown Beaufort, a fully supported bicycle ride for the veterans, and Conflict Zone, a Photographic Exhibit featuring the dramatic works of some of the top photojournalists from Getty, the Washington Post and the New York Times. If you are a severely injured OIF/OEF vet with a 30% or greater disability rating or a Purple Heart recipient your registration fee will be waived. You'll receive assistance with transportation and lodging on a case by case basis as well, with preference being given to veterans who did not attend last years event. For everyone else, by registering early you will help fund the airfare, meals and four days of lodging for the one-hundred severely injured vets and their caregivers who will form the nucleus of the Lt. Dan Weekend. Sunday, September 25th @ 2011 TUNNEL TO TOWERS RUN
