Navy Dads

Whatever you do, do not stay at the Red Carpet Inn on Buckley. Its like a SRO/Homeless Shelter. As a retired Police Lieutenant from NY I can tell you it reminds me of a short stay dirty motel with a rude person named Peter at the Fron Desk, it was so gross i actually walked in and out of the room and asked for a refund. I then stayed at the Ramada Inn which was fantastic. This was my second son who graduated from Navy Boot Camp and could not believe how bad this Motel was. It was listed in the package you recieved from your family when they first got to Boot Camp.

TY YOU SO MUCH PAUL I APPRECIATE THE INFO

Hi John, we've stayed at the Candlewood twice and have loved it both times! We were there in June for our sons PIR and then went back again just for a visit about a week ago and booked it again. It's a really nice area close to food and shopping.

We're booked at the candlewood suites in Waukegan. We're bringing the pugs so our son can see them for the few hours we're together. Any bad things about that one? I'll search on trip advisor.

We stayed at the Days Inn in Great Lakes for the August 17th PIR, Its out dated and a little high priced. but i would not say its dirty..if you can find place in fountain Square do it.. If your looking for a place to do anything more than sleep a few hours then go to PIR and leave don't stay at the Days Inn. 105.00 a night.
