Hi Julio
You can also find info and gate pass information at http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/grad_day.asp . Once your Son can write he will send you a password so you can download his gate pass. Write if you want more info on graduation. My Wife and I and my oldest Son attended his Graduation in April, 2011 it was wonderful. Our Son is now in Monterey, CA. It is nice to have him closer to home for awhile as we live in Redding, CA. We missed and worried about our Son so much, however it was worth the wait. We our so very proud of him and he is proud of himself. Good Luck we know how you must feel. Again if you you would like info on hotels etc, let us know.
Sincerely Mike and Suki
To Julio
We Stayed at the Marriot. It is less than 20 minutes away and they provide shuttle service. I think it was ten dollars one-way. The hotel was very nice abpout $ 99 a night included a kitchen. Great for more than two people. If you rent a car from the O'hare airport it takes about 30 minutes to get to the hotel.
I really reccomend taking the shuttle to the graduation, as parking is crazy with very long waits, the shuttle gets you in and out fast. Plan on leaving your hotel about two hours early or you will wait in line and might not get to sit where you want i.e by his division. Also make reservations as early as you can. I covered multiple dates just in case the Graduation date changed and then cancelled them once I had the exact dates, except for the one I needed.

Julio, you will be getting a letter with all that information. You will get his box of clothes, and a form letter. They used to enclose the form letter with the box, but I think they send it all separate now. If he didn't leave until the 18th, then he should just be finishing up his "P" week. Once you get the division information, click on the link on the starboard side of the page that says "PIR (Pass in review dates). That link will take you tot he RTC web site and you can just go from there. You will find all kinds of useful information there. I will also encourage you join our Boot Camp group, and our PIR tips and hints group.
The order of the day is patience. Your son's main focus is to become a U.S. Sailor. You will probably hear from him in another week via phone call. Once you get his address, write to him as often as you can. It's about the only contact he'll have with the outside. Let us know how we can help you.
Jim
