My son was deployed for a month when the TV back home went kaput. My daughter-in-law called me from 2000 miles away and asked for advice....to make a long story short she bought a new TV and table to set it on.
PROBLEM: The store would not deliver nor set it up. They loaded it into her van and she had to find a friend to help her unload and set up. This took a couple of days and she still wasn't able to finish it completely.
SOLUTION: Call a local Navy Dad for help. I have all kinds of tools, knowledge and ability to offer someone in need. My daughter-in-law could have used a "surrogate dad" if one were available.
I would be proud to offer a hand to any Navy or service member whose family is struggling to get by back home while their spouse is deployed. Is there any way we could organize a support group like this?
we have a Helping Hands group....click this link to go to the group
it's always been our hope to be able to do these kinds of things more often....thank you for being willing to step up and help !!! Any efforts you are willing to do to help get the word out would really help!!
