Hello everyone,
My name is Dexter Mullins and I'm a producer for NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams. I'm working on a story for our series "Making A Difference: On the Homefront" -that highlights the positive things being done for our military serviceman, in particular sailors. I'm currently looking for someone who will be taking part in a Navy Tiger Cruise in the next 3-5 months so we can feature them in the story. Please feel free to leave any comments in the thread below, or email me directly at dexter.mullins@nbc.com.
Thank you all!

SHOULD BE A GOOD STORY. MY YOUNGEST SON IS STATIONED ON THE REAGAN. MY OLDEST SON & I HAD THE PRIVLEDGE ON MY FIRST DAY OF RETIREMENT IN 2011 OF MEETING THE REAGAN IN PEARL HARBOR. WAS A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE FOR THIS OLD SALT, & FOR MY OLDEST THAT NEVER SERVED TO SEE WHAT THE NAVY IS ALL ABOUT. BEST RETIREMENT GIF TO SHARE TIME WITH MY 2 BOYS.GO NAVY!!
Dexter,
Read your post on Navy Dads and my wife and I will be going on a Tiger Cruise on the USS Carl Vinson. Our son Jon is currently deployed on the Vinson and we are to meet up with his ship in May, 2012 in Pearl Habor. We are from Pennsylvania and we are very much looking forward to this TC. If you need any additional info or would like to conatct us, please feel free to do so.

Hi Dexter,
My wife Jan will be attending the same Tiger Cruise mentioned by Jim Hunt in the previous post. Our son Ian is an Aviation Ordinance 3rd Class Petty Officer on Temporary Active Duty (TAD) with F-18 squadron VFA-81. He had just finished his first deployment in December aboard the USS Bush with his home squadron VFA-87 based in Virginia Beach, when he volunteered to go back to sea to help VFA-81 which was short-handed. This will be Jan's first experience on a Tiger Cruise, and she's thrilled! Her father was a WW2 torpedo bomber and fighter pilot but he died in a test pilot crash while working for Northrup in 1961 when Jan was only two. This will be a great opportunity for her to not only see what our son does for the Navy, but to also get a little bit of a sense of what her Dad did in the war.
Ok, I know I'm' a Mom but-I've done 2 Tiger Cruises and had the absolute BEST TIME of my life! They were truly the greatest vactions I've ever had. I loved every minute! It gave me a much greater appreciation of what our kids do. When they deployed after the first cruise I sent more packages, not just to my son but to other sailors I had met. The experience is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and worth every second of it!
Hi Dexter,
I am glad to hear you are doing a story for the good of ou Men & Women in the Military. Our country owes so much to them but get so little in return. I am meeting my son on the USS Forrest Sherman DDG in mid may for a Tiger Cruise. I don't like to put the dates and locations out on the web so if you are interested please feel free to contact me.
Dexter,
I will be going out on the USS Mustin on or about the "x" of May this year. My son is a HT2 and has been in Youkusa for the past 20 months. I am looking forward to both seeing him and Japan and even more excited to be going out on a Tiger Cruise with him.
We would both love to participate in your program.
Michael
I plan on participating in the Tiger Cruise when my son returns on the USS Abraham Lincoln.
I would be pleased and proud to take part in your story.
Dan Thomason
Hello! I won't be attending the Tiger Cruise within the next 2-3 months, but will be accompanying my son ending the last deployment for the USS Enterprise in the fall. This will be it's last Tiger Cruise. I feel honored and priviledged to accompany him on it's return to Norfolk.
My father and Stepfather both served in the US Navy during World War II.
God Bless our military personnel in all services.
close to an OPSEC violation, but not....DO NOT BE MORE SPECIFIC WITH DATES.............

everyone seems to hear the line from the old song "They're gonna put me in the movies...." since these posts went up....let's review that we DO NOT POST DATES REGARDING SHIP MOVEMENTS on this site or any other site for public consumption.....
Hey everyone,
I have gotten an overwhelming amount of response from both the discussion boards and my e-mail. Thank you for all your help!
