Hi all, My son is in his 2nd day of Boot. I am so grateful for this site. I have already learned so much about what to expect, and how to plan for the upcoming events. I look forward to reading and learning more throughout the next 8 weeks.

My son arrived at Great Lakes on Tues 20 Nov 2012, he called his wife spoke briefly and said he will write in 2 weeks. So we are not sure of what his division number is. Looking forward to finding other parent of sailors also in his division.
My son also called today. My wife and I enjoyed a 10 minute conversation with him. This is the second Saturday in a row that he has been able to call. He has a friend who left a week before him and graduates on 12/28. His parents have yet to recieve a phone call other than the initial "I'm here, I'm ok" call. I guess it really up to the discrection of the drill sergeant on how often they get to call out.
I made reservations at the Springhill Suites by Marriot and got a better rate than what I found online by calling the hotel directely. I was able to get a King suite at $89.00 a night with the "Navy Graduation" discount.
my son is also in ship 03 div 052
