My son will be leaving MEPS on October 26, 2010 for Great Lakes.
My girl leaves on Ot. 25. She has so many mixed feelings. Scared of leaving home. We all have been very close. Mom and I are scared to death for her.

I can understand how you feel. You having a daughter shipping out is much more challenging. However, being a veteran myself keep her motiviated. It will be so rewarding in the long run for her!

Have her look for my son Michael Drake Jr. He leaves MEPS on the 26th.

Hello Navy dads! My daughter Sherley is also leaving to boot camp on the 25th. I am also another "very close dad", she's my youngest one (two older boys) and she was the one that gave me the surprise of joining the service. I know that it's going to be hard on me..but her motivation, her love and knowing that she made the right choice for her future, will keep me ok. I hope that she will have the change to meet your children and maybe have training together. Let us pray together, so God will lead their ways!

My son is in flight to Great Lakes as I write this...Good luck to him and all the others.....
My son arrived in Great Lakes 10/26, told me he was going to be the next chief in the family. I got out in 98, his cousin just made chief in Sept of this year. He is going to Nuke school after Boot Camp.
My son just left on the 26th for Great Lakes. Just received his address info. Hoping to find updates and photos of his divisions progress through the Recruit Training Facebook page. Congratulations on your new soldier.
