Last night while at a neighbors having dinner I received a phone call from my sailor. It was so wonderful to hear from him. He sounded great and shared some of his experiences at basic training. All in all it is going very well. He said a few of them were talking after lights out and received "encouragement" from the CPO to stop talking.
He was able to talk to his younger brother who is visiting for the weekend and also spoke to his step mom. We are just so excited that we were able to speak with him. I can't stop smiling.
And if that was not enough, we found a picture of him on the RTC facebook page after they uploaded 600+ pics on Christmas day. He is smiling right at the camera.
