Thanks Pete! Hi everyone, my son is on Ship 03 Div 415. He shipped out on 9/4 and we received a call from him on 9/14. We were surprised to hear from him so soon but glad to hear his voice. He sounded good but only had 10 min to talk, the other 10 min were reserved for his girlfriend. Still haven't received a letter from him but hope to receive one this week. Looking forward to PIR
Hi Todd. My son is on ship 03 div 415. He shipped out on 9/4 also. We received a call from him on 9/21. He sounded really upbeat and in good spirits. He said they were not working real well as a team yet but that it was coming together. Also said that he was not allowed to send any mail until this past weekend. Hoping to maybe get a letter from him tomorrow.
Pete,
My sons name is Dylan and he said the same thing about the division. Lets hope they are improving. I have not yet received a letter either but hoping to get one today. Looking forward to PIR. If you haven't made reservations yet for graduation, I suggest you and everyone else do so. There is a thread on NavyforMoms that there is a countywide soccer tourney the same weekend and the hotels are filling up fast.
Hi Todd. I'm sorry my son is in div 418. I was really tired when I typed that last night. We did get letters from him today. My wife is on NavyforMoms too. We have already made reservations for Navy Lodge and RSVP to Sarge's Meet and Greet for the night before.
Pete,
Hope your son is doing well. Heard from my son on 9/26. Other than having to get 3 of his wisdom teeth out, he seems to be doing ok. Surprised there hasn't been any chatter on this forum. Disappointed that we are only allowed 3 guests at PIR since there are 13 divisions. I will let his 2 sisters and his gf fight it out for the 3rd spot. haha
My son is on Ship 09 Division 417, PIR date of 11/1/13. We have gotten a phone call and mail from him, he sounds great. Can anybody tell me more about Sarge's meet and Greet? I have heard of it but haven't seen or found anything official on it. Thanks!
Hi Todd! We heard from our son by letter on 9/25 and had a phone call 9/29 and again yesterday 9/30. That was a huge surprise. Made me worried for a second. He dodged the wisdom tooth ferry and was happy about that. He is doing well and likes his division. He is on the ship crew now too. I wish there was more chatter on here too.
Yeah we have a similar problem for PIR. I'm divorced so it will be me and his mom and my wife would like to go but I'm sure he will want his girlfriend. Will have to see what happens. Nice to hear from you again.

Hi Hiram,
My son is on the brother div to your sons. There is information on this site under the PIR information about Sarge's Meet and Greet. It is the night before PIR. I'll get some info for you if I can find where it is for you. My wife found a lot out on the navyformoms website. this is the link that will take you to that page http://www.navydads.com/forum/topics/sarge-s-meet-and-greet

Welcome Hiram,
My son is on Ship 03 Div 415. My family will also be attending Sarges Meet and Greet. It sounds like a good time and very informative. As a side note, it looks like the wives have contacted Sarge and since it is Halloween, anyone with small kids can come in costume. Sarge is having a costume contest and many of the wives are bringing candy. Should be a strange mix of Navy info and the macabre. haha
Received grumbling letter from Julia (Ship 04/Div 414). She's ticked-off that they haven't won any flags yet and they collectively have a problem marching properly so they are getting "IT" (Intensive Training) which is the nice way of saying they will march them into the ground until they get their act together. We used to call it the being on the "Special High Intensive Training" list in my day (you can figure-out THAT acronym!). Anyway, I told her they will jell- it takes a bit of time, but they will. And any root-weevils they have will be dealt with by her leaders so to keep her powder dry and make sure her shipmates are doing the same.
Wow... this is a quiet group....
