This Discussion is intended as a place where parents and other loved ones who have SRs with a PIR of 30 November to gather and meet-and-greet and talk about this adventure. Of course, I suppose anyone is welcome.
If anyone knows of others on facebook and navyformoms.com, please direct them this way, too.
Hopefully, this will be a place where we can share stories about phonecalls and letters from our SRs.
And I look forward, already, to meeting all of y'all at PIR.
Sincerely,
Scott

Janie,
Yes, My son's PRI is 11/30 and I got about a 15 minute phone call from him on Thursday, the 25th.
He's on Ship 04 Division 021.
Mail seems to be moving now too. I got his first couple of letters on 10/18 and a few more on 10/25.
I hope you hear from your SR soon.
Best regards,
Al Rutkowski

Has anyone with a PIR date of 30 NOV 12 received a phone call yet...
as I calculate there are typically 72-75 divisions in the RTC pipeline at a time....with 12 ships that's about 6-8 divisons/ship
when you hear "ship" think "large training barracks"
UberGradzilla
I haven't actually talked to my SR yet but I'm sure he will call and surprise me sometime soon but i know he's doing great happy you got your call
I haven't got to my son in Div 802, either Jose. It's hard to be patient, isn't it?
I did get a few letters (all at once) last week Wednesday, so I'm hoping for some more again tomorrow.
Hey all trying to make some decisions regarding planning our trip to Great Lakes...Thought maybe some of you on here might have some advice.
O.K. so many folks have said due to the Gradzilla on 30 NOV 12 and so many people trying to enter base, many have suggested taking in the hotel shuttle to watch graduation. Wonderful, I am sure it would get you there in good time, and you would avoid the traffic lines...but then after graduation when you meet up with your Sailor, how are you gonna take them anywhere? They are not a hotel guest, so they would take up an extra seat on the shuttle going back to the hotel...would there even be room for them on the shuttle...I don't know the more I think about it I don't know if the shuttle is the best idea for me. What are you guys gonna do??? Oh what to do....Sorry I am a planner down to the smallest details I know that is annoying to some, I just want to enjoy my time there
Morning Everyone....
I am very excited...Can't wait for PIR...Just one more month...Hanging in here..preparing for the cold weather...at least I am expecting that in Windy city....
I'm glad that all the parents are getting letters and phone calls already...I preceive that we are all happy and anxious..waiting for the day. But I think we are also with a little bit more of tranquility to know about them.
I wish everybody a wonderfull day and many blessings !!!

I got a short letter today from my son in 802. They are very busy and have limited time to write, but he says they are starting to mesh as a group. "The days are long, but the weeks fly by."
He can't believe they are half way to PIR.
