Navy Dads

Son called today and says all coming together as a team now. So much pride in his voice and I'm so proud of him and all who so bravely go to serve. God bless them all.

Hi Ricky, yes, so glad our guys are so positive! A good attitude will get them far. I hope sean will also call some friends. All his buddies miss him and we had lunch with two of them today!
i sent Sean a letter today and asked him to go say hi to your son, that we connected on navy dads. My wife on nfm site and a mom wanted her son to look up Sean. He went and found the guy. They both thought was pretty cool that their parents connected this way. He's pretty amazed at this.
We booked Holiday Inn but considering other's. We're flying in on 9/11(never thought I'd ever fly on that day) getting there at 1:30. That will give us plenty of time to check in and then go to Sarge's Meet and Greet. Looking forward to that also. Can't wait to hear more good news from them. Have a great weekend!

Tim, MY name is Otto Boslow, my son is Curtis he is also in ship 11 div 284. Will ask him about your son also. I have been talking to Ricky and both our sons have talked. We are trying to make it 9/10/12. Going to try and make it to the Sarges Meet also. I have asked Curtis to try and get word out about Navydads.com to all the others in the division. Hope all the young men are doing great. Take care. It's nice to hear from people that have son's doing the same thing. Otto

Hi Otto--It's great for us to be able to ask them about the other guys they're with. So I'll mention Curtis to Sean too and they can say hello. Yea, this site is full of information, all the parents should know about it. Well, as Im sure you are, we're looking forward to the next phone call or letter and we've signed up for sarge's meet. Looking forward to meeting all.

Tim I put it in a letter for my SR to see if he knows yours, but it will be next week before I hear anything.

Hi Ricky and Otto--haven't checked in for awhile. No phone call for quite some time. How about you guys? PIR coming up quick.

Hi tim, it's been over a month since my last call. the letters say mine in fine and that's about it, lol Few more days and this stage should be over, next week can't come fast enough.

Thanks for replying Ricky and hope to hear from Otto too. I'm afraid the phone calls we got in the beginning just made us expect more. We weren't prepared for this much silence. We're living for the Thursday mail at this point. He says all going good in his very brief letters so can't ask for more than that. We're now keeping busy with finalizing our plans. printing out our base passes for the rental car tonight and making a list of what to bring. Next week coming fast!

Yes Tim, the calls were nice, that should have helped them with home sickness and the empty nest syndrome for us parents. Our wednesday mail call came a few minutes ago, Thursday. 3rd PFA passed! He passed the second PFA but I was still worried about the 3rd, I shouldn't worry but I have to, must be the dad syndrome. Check list, Hotel, check...cash, credit card, check...Gate Pass, printed. Now all we need is that immortal phone call "I'm A Sailor", then packing and hitting the road for a nice, short, 10 hr drive. My B-day is the 10th, so this will be the best present ever. Hope to see you there!

It's official, We are Proud Parents of a New U.S. Sailor!!

Yes indeed--very proud of our new Sailor! Our whole life was on hold today after my wife found out on NFM that 281-284 went through BS last night, just waiting on his call. Congratulations to your son and can't wait to see them marching by at PIR!

Congrats.  My son is in Div 283. Glad that they completed Battle Stations last night. Ready for PIR.

Hi Romaro--Congratulations To your son!! So glad to hear from you---283/284 are brother divisions! Can't wait to see all at PIR!
