Our daughter said they're Battle Stations is XXX. Nov.XX. So when she calls with the words "I'm a sailor" would that most likely be on Sat. Nov.16 as soon as its over ? I assume that's when they are up for 72 hrs.
Paul: posting BS21 schedules are a violation of OPSEC guidelines and have been edited out

no...the 48-plus hours thing is on arrival at RTC. You'll get a call when they are over though many sailors opt for some sleep first or the RDC's throw a pizza party for the division. You know when she is scheduled....keep you phone handy
so how long does it last ? we are trying to be sure to be able to receive a call.
Battle Stations-21 (BST) is the final test for the recruits and is a 12 hour evaluation program with 17 ship board scenarios from missile attacks that can cause fires to flooding caused by exploding undersea mines. Recruits also stand watches on the bridge and are tasked with engineering scenarios, lookout scenarios, and mass casualty drills. Battle Stations-21 is conducted several times a week, at night, on board USS Trayer (BST 21), a 210-foot-long Arleigh Burke-class destroyer simulator.
The "I'm a Sailor!" calls can come 1 to 10 days prior to PIR on a weekday and usually start around 2 pm Central Time, but can start earlier or later, and can come as late as around 8 pm Central Time. Therefore, it is best to have your phone close by all day. When your Sailor makes that call, s/he will most likely be very tired since s/he will have been up since 5 am the previous day and won't make it into his/her rack until between 8 and 10 pm that night.
TY Paul,, that helps. I guess if I'm the woods deer hunting the deer will have to wait. Not gonna miss that call.
A man has to have his priorities !!!!!! The deer will be there....how many times do you get to hear the pride in your sailor's voice for becoming a sailor!!!!!
