Navy Dads

Biography

Lt. Adam Miller is the Weapons Officer ("Weps") on board the USS Jefferson City
SSN 759 Point Loma, San Diego, Ca.

He enlisted from High School, directly to the Submarine Service. Basic training, A School and Sub School all taken at the Orlando Base in 1994. He was in the last enlisted class before it was shut down.

He took Nuclear Reactor training at Balston Spa, NY, for 6 months. After 3 years, was selected to attend the Navy's "BOOST" program, in Rhode Island and was selected to go to college. He then was directed to "resign" from active duty and re-enlist into NROTC at Boston University, while he attended his four year course in Electrical Engineering.

Upon graduation was Commissioned as an Ensign on the Navy's "oldest" active warship, The USS Constitution, permanently based in Boston Harbor.
Then he was required to attend all of the schools that he previously completed, as an enlisted sailor, but, this time as an Officer. Different approach, longer harder hours. He went first to Charleston for A School and then back to Balston Spa.

Finally he was assigned to the USS MIAMI, SSN 755, based in Groton, CT.
He served both a Sea and land tour there, and was deployed twice to the waters of the Persian Gulf. He stayed on at Groton for another 2 years as an Instructor at the "Sub" school on Base.
This year he was transferred to the USS Jefferson City.

Lt. Mill represents everything that is great about our Navy and this country. Right out of High School he got the direction and support required to achieve great things for himself, the Navy, and this country. God bless you and your family for your service and dedication.
