Navy Dads

My son shipped or on Aug 25 for boot camp and we have not heard from him since, other than our kid in a box and the formal letter stating his address and PIR date. I am just curious if anybody else has heard from their SR...letter, phone call. I look forward to hearing from anybody.

My son shipped on July 22 and it took maybe 3 weeks before we got a call. Give it some time. We have since received additional calls and some letters as well. But as Jim says keep writing since they REALLY want your letters, pracically live for your letters.

Thank you Jim and Doug...I appreciate your responses. I will keep writing. Letters from home always helped when I was in boot camp.

Dont worry he will call my son shipped out Aug 19th and he called for the first time last sunday he too is a 9 div 949 ship 2 also just write and send him pictures that will make his whole day week 8 weeks lol

You will probably hear from him from him this weekend or next week. No news is good news. As everyone else said send plenty of letters and pics. You will very proud of him when he graduates. My son just graduated Sept 12th. I was much prouder of him than I was of myself when i graduated boot camp. Your son is in great hands & he is fine. Your son will be a MAN when you see him again.

my son call sunday

eek mine went this week. I hope you get to hear from him soon.

same ship 02 and division my son 950
Wish you and yours the best of luck. My wife is on Navyformoms.com and others with the same PIR date as my son but different divisions were getting calls the week their kids left. Don't give up hope and keep that phone on your hip. Lol. A lot missed to hear their kids cause they went shopping etc. You just never know when.
i miss my son call today

This helped me a lot...if you go to the Navy RTC website you can download a pamphlet for families that tells a lot of the info about phone calls, mail, etc...

you mean the family guide...we have links to that all over the site- http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/pdfs/FamilyGuide_v18Jun2013.pdf
