Navy Dads

I just got a form letter from my boy who flew out 1/27/2014. Does anyone else have a Son/daughter in this division? Has is it normal to not recieve a regular letter before the form letter? Thanks!

We got the box last week. We got a call today though, it was a long call and we got to talk probably 10min. He's been getting our letters, and said that he's been writing. So hopefully soon, but it was good to get the call.
Sounds encouraging to get a 10 min call so soon. Our SR flew up on the 29th and we just got the form letter yesterday. Perhaps we'll get a call in the next few days with some details on how it is going for him.

You must be closer to RTC... we are in FL. Thanks, best wishes for your SRs success!
We are in Va. He was supposed to ship out the week before but, snow here and in IL kept it from happening for a week or so. All in all it was a 6min call, but it was good. It made my wife feel a lot better.

My son is on the same boat and Division, he flew out on 1/28. We already made reservation, looking for airfares now.  I was able to get my son address and expected PIR date the following Monday and he has already received our letters.

Where are you flying out of ? we are trying to get flights out of Tampa

We are flying out of Sarasota on Delta into Milwaukee. We have miles to use with Delta so didn't check other airlines.
We are flying out of Dulles. We are finding prices around $260-$275

I got his box but have not gotten the formal letter. Did you get yours ?

I've gotten his form letter. It came last week. His first letter home that was hand written came Friday, but then we got another call home on Saturday. This one was almost 15min long! From what my wife said, a lot of the moms on navyformoms.com got calls too. We live in Va, I noticed his letter we got Friday was dated Sunday. So maybe you'll get yours tomorrow. We got 20" of snow Thursday, so I'm sure that's slowing things down.

No call in about two weeks, no news is good news but would like to hear his voice. a little over three weeks. Can't wait

Thursday will be two weeks for us too. We've gotten two letters this week though. Maybe they can earn another call. My boy said there's been some cutting up that caused some phone related consequences.

I normally don't get my letters until Thursday. Wow two letters that's good, I thought they are only allowed to mail out their letters on Sunday (Mondays mail).
