Navy Dads

For any parents with kids in this division I'd like to start a group.

you will probably have more luck with a group for the PIR rather than a specific division....there are 88 sailors in a division meaning that there are only 88 sets of parents in the world that would be in the same division....

My son is in div 270, PIR same date!

My son Michael is in Ship 12  Div 272.

How is everyone doing?
She is our only child & she is the 1st member of my family to serve in the military. Heck, no one in my family has even participated in ROTC (including her). So this is all new to us.
I'm dying to know how she's doing & what's been going through her head.
I was in so I thought I had an idea, but when it's your kid, it's all together different.lol. My son graduates 08AUG and I just received my first letter, and he was still excited to be there! It's absolutely amazing, and I am so proud to have been in the Navy and even more proud of my son!

My daughter was in this Div. she is in SEPS now do to some medical issues , Congrats to all that made it.

JoDean,
Thanks for replying. What is SEPS? I've heard of SIQ, is it similar?
How do you know she's there? Have you received a phone call or letter?

Ship 5 Separation, she will be leaving the Navy.  Due to some medical issues but they can go to SEPS for a number of reasons if they are separating from the Navy, it is where they wait till they go through all the red tape to go home.

They let her call me to let me know.

SIQ is sick in quarters

Hey Christphopher

We finally received a letter from my son yesterday (Friday). You should be getting one as well. We so so glad to hear from him, finally! We are glad he is adjusting and enjoying his experience. I believe the  division did not get letters from the parents and family yet. In his letter he was asking for letters! My wife has been writing every day! He basically stated they can't talk to each other during the day. They only have a short time to talk to each other at night in baracks. The funny thing my son wrote that he is incharge of the division mail. So I hope you heard from your daughter. I bet she is doing great!

Jim! That is great news. No we haven't received any mail yet but we did get a call from her today. She is doing great & said she isn't having any trouble.
She was a little emotional when I 1st answered but then she got it together and we had a great conversation. I had her on speaker phone so my wife & I were both able to talk to her.
I also know we don't have a letter on the way since she said "I'm not good at writing letters so I haven't written one yet". Figures. Lol! I guess if she's not texting then she doesn't know how to write!!! But she did say she's getting my letters and those helped. I'm wondering what the delay time on the mail is? I googled it & it said 4 days from Chicago to Austin so there must be a big delay in processing there on base.

5 weeks to go! Stay strong.
