Any Dads out there with recruits in this Division?

My son is in this division also.
I'm assuming that, like me, you guys were initially given the wrong mailing address by your recruiters and weren't informed until that first Saturday when our sons called home which, if memory serves me, was ten days after they reported to Great Lakes.
It makes me wonder if some employee at Great Lakes entered the wrong address into the site that the recruiters access and that the Navy, realizing this error, allowed the recruits to call home three times in less than two weeks. If that is indeed the case, then kudos to whoever made that decision.
As of Thursday, the last time my son called, he had not received the letters that were misaddressed. Since I had "written" everything using MS Word (the art of handwriting being lost to me) I printed them out and mailed them again.
I hope the Navy does right and routs those misaddressed letters to the recruits though. Surely it can't be that hard.
Actually, that makes since, if that's the case I will take it. I've only received 1 letter so far, and I forgot to ask if he got my previous letters during the phone calls? In any case, I keep sending them, hoping they help him while going through this.
I do hope they are allowed to call again soon, maybe this weekend?
I've received two, both arrived last Thursday. My son told me that the only time they have to write is on Sunday, and that is also the only day they collect outgoing mail. Apparently two Sundays ago the "Mail POs" (it must be one of the collateral boot camp duties assigned to recruits) didn't gather the outgoing mail in time, so it sat an extra week in Great Lakes.
My son did say that he received my letters that were addressed correctly, but not the ones I wrote during those first ten days.
And I'm with you, Jeff, I would love a call this weekend.
I received a letter today, the first communication for abit. I am sure they are all real busy, but sounds like things are going much better, and sounds like the division is doing well also. Have you guys heard anything similar? I was happy to hear from him, sounds like my son is getting more accustomed to BC. They are over halfway,PIR will be here soon. Have a good day, later.
Thanks, Jeff, for the update. I got a letter today. My son in good spirits and also said the division is doing very well. He mentioned that the misaddressed mail from the first two weeks finally made it to the recruits. Nice to see that the Navy made things right.
Glad to see that your son is doing well.
PIR in three weeks. Can't wait.
I received another letter this afternoon. It was only a half page but he sounded good and seemed pretty excited that he qualified with the 9mm. He also said that he would be calling home next on Thursday May 16th, just after "Battlestations." I would think that this would apply to the entire Division.
Received the same info, phone calls Thurs May 16th.
Did anyone receive their "P2" letter or just the password?
"Your recruit sent home a letter called a P2 letter in the beginning of their training. The letter contains the password to access the gate pass online. Once you get the password, follow the instructions below to get the gate pass online:"
Its getting close, in a little over a day they will be going into Battlestations, and so heres to all their hard work paying off! I am assuming that no news is good news at this point, for thats what I have gotten as of late. Wish them all luck, and truly look forward to a call Thursday!!
