Quick question, my son caught pneumonia during boot camp and was placed on light duty. He is heart broken that he may not finish with his division this week. He is better but he still needs to pass his PFA, Swimming and battle stations. He was so close. What happens now when recruits are in that position?

SIQ (Sick in Quarters)....If he is only down for a day or two, he can catch up....How close is he to PIR? The alternative is he is delayed and will graduate with an upcoming Division...
I am not sure of all of the details but it sounds as though he only needed to complete the PfA, swim and battle stations.
So he has several weeks to go I would guess? If that is the case, I would bet that he will be fine and catch right up.....Recruits get sick quite often, but usually aren't held back....
No his original PIR is scheduled for this week. He's almost done, but the pneumonia set him back and he only needs to complete those three things.
Well...the PFA and Swimming are usually completed earlier along. Battle Stations is usually the last week....so it depends upon how quickly he gets up and running. He will let you know whether or not he is going to graduate on time...He can't go through Battle Stations until the other two are completed...
He told me this past weekend that he was hoping against hope that he could complete everything in time but felt that things had to work together and fall into place in a timely manner before he could finish with his division this week. He did tell me that after he's done they would likely give him a ticket to his A school and he wouldn't likely participate in the PIR. I was hoping if anyone had anything more encouraging but as long as he finishes.
Thank you so much for your assistance.
He will definitely know where he stands this week....and only he can let you know! He has a lot to accomplish in a week and I don't know if it is possible. As long as he recovers and completes his testing, he will move on to A School. Hopefully, he will get to participate in a Ceremony when the time comes! Best of luck to him in his endeavors....
