Navy Dads

After searching the web on a way to find any information on my son who left for Boot Camp on 06Jun I ran arcross a discussion on Navymoms.com. I finally figured out what they had been talking about. On facebook (if you have an account) you can search "U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command" and it is a facebook page for RTC, on the facebook page they have photos of whats going on at boot camp, the latest that I seen today (10jun) was 07June20012.

Hopefully if you check it out a few time you may get a glimpse of how your Recruit is doing, at least that is my hopes!

BK, have you checked out our Boot Camp Group? Just click the Blue link for info we have here on NavyDads.

pics are VERY spotty and VERY random...do NOT count on seeing them at with any pattern.  Your recuti is doing fine...ohterwise you be notified.  get used to the mantra that "no news is good news".  Your recuit is in good hands...the Navy has been developing sailors since 13 Oct 1775 and they have some expereince with turning civilians into sailors.

This is the link to the Navy RTC, I can not promise you will see your child, I can not promise anything about the site. All I can say is that they have photos posted to the site of recruits in Boot Camp. No News is Good News, till they tell you the bad news! I left for MCRD San Diego in 1990, my younger brother went to NRTC Great Lakes in 1993, Boot Camp is tough probably one of the toughest things our children have been up against in there young lives, there will be time that we will not here from them for days, weeks, or months, but for that simple stupid chance to get a glimpse of them at this time in there lives would be awesome and to be able to print off a picture of them during Boot Camp would be even better. You as parents do not have to go to this site, I am just offering what I believed to be an awereness of what is going on during these short Eight weeks, even if you dont see your child you can see what they will do, are doing, or have done. Its real simple they didnt have anything like that for my parents to view while their only two sons were going though boot camp and now that they do have a social site I think it is a great decision of our military even if my son never shows up on a single photo.

Every time I've found a picture of my son, he's in a chow line. If nothing else, I don't have to worry that he's not eating well.
