My son will PIR on Sep 2. He's in Ship 14, Div 305. I know we can't post specifics, but if there is any information, please, Please, PLEASE message me. We can't wait for his call!
Can anybody tell me when it typically happens? It's not the day or two before PIR, is it?
Thanks all!!
SR Brandon Ciaccio's proud daddy!

I'm not trying to be an #^*!! here, but a friendly reminder...We all understand your excitement in your Recruits accomplishments, but we have to be very careful as to what we post. Times are very different....and the last thing that we want to do is endanger anyone. It may seem silly right now....but as things progress, you will understand the ramifications of posting certain dates and times. So...as a guide...
OPSEC Rules:
• Don’t discuss future destinations or ports of call
• Don’t discuss future operations, exercises or missions (including Family Day Cruises)
• Don’t discuss dates and times of when we will be in port or conducting exercises
• Don’t discuss readiness issues and numbers
• Don’t discuss specific training equipment or lack thereof
• Don’t speculate about future operations
• Don’t spread rumors about current, future, or past operations or movements
• Don’t discuss deployment or homecoming dates
• Don’t assume the enemy is not trying to collect information; they always are
• Don't discuss Security Procedures, movements, or arms
• Be smart, use your head, and always think OPSEC when using email, phone, chat rooms and message boards. There is no guarantee that a chat room or forum described as 'military' has any security for transmitting information or restricting membership to military personnel and their families only
Don't feel bad Sean...for many of us our kids enlisting in the Navy was out first foray into security and OPSEC. It will become second nature to you soon!
No worries, Brother!
