Chuck, just got the call from Nick. He was officially notified that he is now a GM3 (E4). He is one happy young man.

Isn't nice to know that your son has some great friends during his Navy journey? I know that meeting some of Andrew's friends has been a help to me.

No Chuck, Nick will be staying in Hawaii for Christmas. He will be working on Thanksgiving but off for Christmas. His best friend from Great Lakes who is also a GM and is on the same ship is married and he and his wife want Nick over for Christmas. In fact they always want him over for dinner. Gary T.

Gary,
What's up is your sailor flying home or not?
Ours will be deploying very soon and will be overseas by Thanksgiving.

That quite the trip you've lost three hours before you get to California. My son says that it is better to be going west. He says it is easier on him to loose the time Is that $798 round trip? Not a bad price going to the eastern half of the country.
My son has not been home since Jan of 09. We went to see him last April and spent about a week with him. What a treat.
Either way your son decides you have a great Thanksgiving!

Well Chuck, whats new. My son called me an had me check on flights home from Hawaii. Cheapest I found was on KAYAK ($798) for a RED EYE flight. All others were $1399 to $1600. He can only get ten days off and with travel time his stay at home would be short. Don't know what he is going to do. I check his Face Book and it seems he may not come home at all. I told him its not that I don't want to see you but maybe save your money for a time when you can be home a bit longer. He is out again, second time since Oct 31. Have a great holiday. Gary T.

Kid was out for a week again. Seems his ship being a test platform is always out and in. Many of his friends spend a great deal of time in port. They say they could sail if someones ship wasn't always out and eating up the budget.
